Correspondence, financial records, photographs, and miscellaneous papers, concerning three generations of the Patton family of Alamance Co., N.C. Correspondence is chiefly that of Alexander "Sandy" and William Patton, members of North Carolina's 57th Infantry Regiment, Company I, when they were in Richmond, Petersburg, and Fredericksburg (1862), and Winchester, Va. (1864), where Alexander was taken prisoner in July. Some later correspondence relates to family members' efforts to gain membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution.
